The older I get, the more aware I am of time and how quickly it actually passes. I feel like one of the biggest luxuries of childhood was not being aware of time and how slowly it seemed to pass by back then. Our trip to Japan is over. We are back home. What always comes to mind after I get back home from a relaxing vacation or event is that scene from the last episode of the office where Ed Helms character says, “ I wish there was a way to know you’re in ‘the good old days’, before you’ve actually left them.”

The last week in Japan was kind of a mishmash of a lot of stuff. After returning from Naoshima island the cherry blossoms were finally out to play. So naturally me and Nikki decided to walk along meguro river and peep the scene. At the start, we were in a less touristy area and it was pretty chill. The closer you get to the Starbucks R* and get closer to shibuya side of things it gets a little hectic. 6 times in Japan, and I have never seen this many people here. Honestly I felt bad for the Japanese citizen just trying to go about their day and get to work or whatever they were doing. Shit was a madhouse in some areas. Beyond that, a lot of tourists are just very poorly behaved. But I digress, here’s some Sakura shots!

We did other random activities like thrifting and souvenir shopping that I’m not going to blabber about or post pics of. We also did things I will talk about, but don’t have a lot of photos of. One of those things was visiting Yokohama’s Chinatown with my cousin and his wife. We had a great time. The weather was nice. The street food is amazing. The crowds were, crowdy. Is that a word? Idk. Here’s like one or two pics I have from Yokohama.

One of the other day trips we did involved my Japanese friends Atsuya and his wife Airisa. They took us to the area they live in Kawagoe and Tokorozawa. We visited an old town that preserved the do style street in the area. We also visited a cool ass museum. And then at the end we visited his family home and hung out with his Parents and Grandmother. I got pretty drunk with his dad and we got lost in translation but also I did ok with my minimal Japanese. Luckily Airisa was there to translate the harder to explain stuff for us both. It was honestly an amazing time and I can’t thank them enough for the experience. If you’re reading this, THANK YOU Atsuya & Airisa ❤️

There were fun small moments as well. One night we accompanied my boy Dak and his fam and our homie Koosei (aka koooshei) to dinner and ice cream. Daks 2 younger kids tagged along and they were real fun to hang around. Here’s a few photos!

The last few days of the trip were spent hanging around our local area and shopping. There honestly isn’t much to say about it, except that it was great. I made some new homies. Shout out Mel & Kenshin! And I got to enjoy my favorite place in the world for a 6th time with my favorite person in the world.

But now it’s over, and I’m at my desk at work writing this blog.
